Unveil 7 and 10 inch designs

ZiiLabs has announced the Jaguar family of reference design tablets. Available in seven-inch and ten-inch HD touchscreen versions, they run Android 3. ZiiLabs is making these reference platforms available to OEMs and ODMs to customize into their own tablet designs.

The Jaguar tablets will incorporate ZiiLabs' recently announced ZMS series StemCell processors. The ZMS-20 is dual-core, while the ZMS-40 is quad-core. Both are ARM Cortex-A9 based and run at 1.5GHz.

The seven-inch model incorporates a 1024x600 touch screen that's either capacitive or resistive, five-megapixel rear and HD front cameras, GPS, stereo speakers and dual microphones. The 10-inch version replaces the seven-inch screen with a 1280x800 LCD.

Samples of the reference models are currently available and will be displayed at next week's Computex 2011 tradeshow in Taipei.

Originally known as 3DLABS, ZiiLabs became a subsidiary of Creative Technology in 2009.
