3 PCs feature next gen processors with HD graphics
MSI is using the Computex conference in Taipei to showcase two new desktop PCs in its Wind Box family of mini-PCs, the Wind Box DC100 and the Wind Box DC540. The company is also displaying its higher-performance Hetis H61 PC.
The DC100 features the AMD Brazos 1.6GHz AMD E-350 CPU,supports integrated 1080p HD video output and 3D gaming while consuming only 18-watts of energy. The DC100 also comes with a 250GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM.
The E-350 is the same Fusion processor as being used in MSI's recently announced Wind Top AE2050 all-in-one and CR650 laptop PCs. It features both a processor and a Radeon HD 6310, DirectX 11 (OpenGL 4.0) graphics core woven directly into the architecture. This offers faster speeds and cooler running than AMD's current products.
The DC540 integrates an Intel dual-core Cedar Trail-D CPU. This is the latest Atom family processor that Intel plans to use in mini and ultra-mini desktop PCs.
The Cedar Trail chipet will support DirectX 10.1, HD decoding, Blu-Ray 2.0, display options including HDMI 1.3a, DisplayPort 1.1, eDP (embedded DisplayPort), LVDS and VGA, and up to two displays simultaneously.
The Hetis H61 will use a second generation, but as yet unidentified Intel Sandy Bridge Core i-series CPU with integrated graphics.
MSI did not announce pricing and availability for the three PCs.
