Tracks recorded to SD card

Zoom has introduced its latest audio product, the R8, which combines recording functionality with DAW control surfaces and a sampler. Users can simultaneously record two tracks or play eight tracks, with recording in 24-bit/48kHz resolution as WAV files on an SD card. As an audio interface connected to a computer via USB, the R8 offers dual inputs and outputs that support 24-bit/96kHz audio.

Users can take advantage of an integrated control surface for mixing operations and DAW transport functions, such as play, record or stop. The built-in sampler can also be controlled using eight pads, with control over loop intervals, time-stretching and trimming.

The R8 ships with a 2GB SD card, which contains over 500 samples. The company has yet to announce pricing information.
