Phone data to be shared with tablet data
AT&T is reportedly working on a shared plan for data access from multiple devices, according to the company's mobility chief executive, Ralph de la Vega. Speaking at the D9 conference, the executive suggests AT&T subscribers will be able to sign up for a shared data plan sometime in the future, though the company is not ready to disclose specific details.
Despite the lack of specifics, the comments are likely aimed at plans that share a certain amount of data between smartphones, netbooks and tablet devices such as the iPad. The plans would likely be much different than the limited "sharing" aspects of current offerings in the industry, which typically set aside part of the smartphone data allowance for tethering purposes if users are willing to pay extra.
A launch time-frame for AT&T's shared plans remains unclear; De la Vega suggests it is "coming soon," but he was unwilling to disclose a specific quarter.

I'm betting it will cost
more than your existing "unlimited" data plan. :
