PlayStation Store and PSN completely back

Sony at the turn of midnight Thursday said it had brought back the PlayStation Store as promised this week. The shop and its DLC were available immediately in North America and also included new content, including new demos, full games, add-ons, and sales. Both PS3 and PSP owners could get to the new content.

Qriocity's Music Unlimited streaming was also coming back, and all PSN services should be available outside of Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. The three have been held up, mostly by Japanese concerns that PSN must be more secure before it can come back online.

Even for the US, the resumption marks over six weeks between when PSN was pulled down and when users could experience the gaming service as usual. Sony has been criticized less for the time restoring service and more for its response, where it didn't acknowledge that it had taken the network down until a day after the hack and didn't confirm that accounts had been compromised until a week later. The company began making amends soon afterwards, however, including promising a Welcome Back gift to gamers once the store was revived and near constant updates until Thursday.

Welcome Back deals have already been mentioned for the US but should be expanded to include other countries in the near future.
