Samsung details Galaxy Tab 10.1 US launch
Samsung on Thursday set out its American launch plans for the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The long-mentioned June 8 release will be a special event at Best Buy's Union Square location in New York City. Buyers elsewhere will wait 10 days later, until June 17.
The company also pleased early buyers by revealing that the plan to ship with Android 3.1 includes a stock interface. TouchWiz's interface elements, such as the live panels and the mini app tray, will be available later as an optional upgrade. Samsung's overall customizations themselves are dialed back from the heavy changes on its phones.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 models come only in Wi-Fi versions at first and cost $499 for a 16GB version and $599 for 32GB.
