MSI lets users oversee overclocked PCs with Afterburner app

MSI shows Afterburner app for Android at Computex
Graphics card and mainboard maker MSI teamed up with software programmer Nick Connors to create a version of its Afterburner overclocking program for the mobile Android OS. It doesn't overclock the smartphone it's installed in, but rather lets users monitor or adjust the status or settings of their overclocked PCs over a Wi-Fi connection. This includes frequency, temperature, voltage and fan speed. It needs to work in conjunction with the Afterburner program installed on the host PC.
This is useful when playing a game, for example, without having to interrupt game play or switch to a secondary display. When away from home, users can check in on their system's performance as well. The app works in real time too.
The app is now being demonstrated at the Computex 2011 show Taiwan this week. There are rumors a version for iOS devices is under development as well and will soon be capable of working with GPUs from other companies. When the Android app is officially launched isn't yet known, however.
