Licensed accessories enhance D3 game experience

Steelseries has announced two new game-themed accessories, the Diablo III mouse and Diablo III headset. Game-specific design features include Diablo III artwork and "demon red" LEDs that can be set to pulse at different rates. On the practical side of things, they use double-braided nylon cord to reduce tangling and gold-plated connectors. The headset has 50mm drivers and a retractable boom mic. The ambidextrous mouse has seven programmable buttons and a CION laser sensor that can be set up to 5,000 CPI.

The earcups on the lightweight headset also have leather-covered noise reducing foam. The cord has an integrated volume control and mute button. Lighted accents surround the earcups and highlight the Diablo III logo on either side of the headband.

The mouse uses switches that Steelcase guarantees for 10 million clicks. The mouse buttons are fully programmable and mappable. It ships with a Diablo III game profile preset. The CPI switch, scroll wheel, and game logo can be illuminated.

The Steelseries Diablo III headset will retail for $120. The Steelseries Diablo III mouse will sell for $70. No information on availability was released, but will likely coincide with the launch of the game. Players can sign up on the Steelseries website to be notified by email when these accessories go on sale.
