Readers now available in store onlu

Radio Shack has begun selling the Amazon Kindle. Following in the footsteps of other retails including Walmart, Target, Staples, Costco and Best Buy, the company has begun selling the popular e-book reader. Initially sales will only be through its brick and mortar stores.

The Wi-Fi only version is making one of its first retail appearances and costs the same $114 as it does from Amazon. This is consistent with a special $25 off deal being offered by most Kindle retailers. It also comes set up to receive special offers and sponsored screensavers that scroll across the bottom of the Kindle screen or show up displayed on the Kindle Screensaver when idle. The WiFi + 3G version is priced at its usual $189.

Radio Shack has not indicated if or when it might start selling the Kindle online.
