Motorola Xoom hits Costco for lower $500 price

Online price still unchanged

Costco appears to have dropped the price of the Motorola Xoom. Its Wholesale Club stores are now selling the Xoom Wi-Fi packaged with a gel case for $500. Its price online, however, continues to be just slightly below the official price at $590.

The package Costco is offering includes the 32GB Xoom with Wi-Fi. It's likely though not certain that Costco will be dropping the web price to match their brick-and-mortar pricing.

Why it would get a price drop just weeks after going on sale isn't clear, but Motorola in its first quarter results reported moving just 250,000 Xooms, or just a small fraction of what Apple managed with the iPad in the same period. [via Droid-Life]

    Wait.. be patient..

I will wait until it drops to $230 or so, I will buy as many as I can and sell it to the fandroids for $500 again.
Since they haven't sold many of those and the few sold were returned to the store, Motorola will start lowering it's price to the pint that they will be paying to take the tablet with you.
