updated 06:20 pm EDT, Fri June 17, 2011

Drive bridges iPads, iPhones, iPods, PCs, Macs

PhotoFast has introduced a flash drive that makes it easy to transfer data from Apple portable devices to others as well as Macs or even a Windows PC. The i-FlashDrive features a standard USB connector on one side and an iPhone, iPad or iPod connection on the other. An accompanying app enables file storage, viewing and management.

The drive comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions. Through the USB connector it can work with any hardware running iOS, Windows or Linux. The i-FlashDrive app is a file manager, document viewer, text editor, voice recorder and enables contact backups. It is downloadable from the App Store. It is compatible with the iPad, iPhone 4 or fourth-generation iPod touch.

The i-FlashDrive will be available in early July. Pricing for the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacity drives sits at $98, $119, and $192 respectively.

    No Mac

From the article, "Through the USB connector it can work with any hardware running iOS, Windows or Linux."
Am I misunderstanding here? Will I be able to x'fer for example Numbers or Pages files to my Mac and vice-versa?

    This is something...

... for people who aren't aware of the other, better ways of getting files to and from your iOS device. Head over to the App Store and check out Cloud Connect. Blew my mind. If you want it cheaper, try Air Sharing (or Air Sharing HD for the iPad). Or try Dropbox. Or try SugarSync. Or wait for iCloud.
