Vizio Android tablet to hit Walmart in six weeks
A Walmart inventory finding on Friday has narrowed down the release timing for the Vizio Via tablet. The "Vizio 8" Tablet" has surfaced in the system alongside other tablets with a "week 26" ship date. The Engadget notice would have it arriving in about six weeks, or in late July.
Much of the tablet's information is still an unknown. Vizio is primarily counting on the Android device as a universal remote and is giving it SRS-augmented speakers for its own video viewing. A front camera is one of its few remaining confirmed features.
The Via tablet had already been seen in the Walmart system with a $349 price that would reflect Vizio's usual attempt to compete on price first.
