Works in conjunction with i-car GPS system
Fujitsu will soon be releasing the AVN-F011 GPS car navigation system. Fujitsu has developed a complementary iPhone app, "Doco Car" (Where Car). Using it, a driver can locate and be directed to a parked car.
The Doco Car app launches when the car is parked. The app uses the iPhone's own GPS system to memorize the car's location. Later, when the user wants to return to their car, Doco Car guides them with an arrow pointing the right direction and giving the approximate distance.
If when the driver first leaves the car, its location cannot be determined, they are prompted to take pictures of landmarks around the parked car for reference.
The Doco Car app will be free. The AVN-F011 navigation system will cost an estimated $1,120. It will be available in Japan in early July. Fujitsu doesn't normally sell GPS units in the US. [via Tech-On]
