Xperia duo first dual-core Sony Ericsson phone?

A picture has surfaced from China of the rumored Sony Ericsson Xperia duo. Although the authenticity of the phone is difficult confirm, it bares a resemblance to the Xperia arc, albeit with what appears to be a larger 4.5-inch edge-to-edge display. It is known that Sony Ericsson has trademarked the Xperia duo name, which is thought to refer to the inclusion of a dual-core processor. If so, it would be the first Sony Ericsson handset to sport dual-core power.

The phone captured in the image also appears to have a redesigned Xperia interface. It is apparent that the weather widget has been modified, while a short-cut to media controls now sits underneath the main dock icons.

Sony Ericsson has been working hard to revamp its Android phone line-up this year. Its line-up in 2010 was underwhelming, with devices running superseded versions of the Android OS on tired hardware. 2011 has seen a marked turnaround in the quality of its hardware, which are also running the most recent releases Android. since most companies copy Apple's designs and colour schemes. You can get the following colours for irons, for christ sake (Strawberry,Tangerine, Blueberry, Grape, Lime). It will be about time Apple "copied" the enormous effort, and the huge R&D that has gone into edge-to-edge screens. Most smartphones look the same to me. But I will be buying 3 iPhone 4GS's or iPhone5's, whatever Apple will call it in September, for me, my partner, and my daughter. As we can tell the difference between the genuine article, ie the real McCoy, or McKoy (for the copycats) and same cheap s*** copy lookalike.
