Apple stores prep visual overnight yet again
Apple is gearing up another one of its overnight visual overhauls for Tuesday in what could be a sign of another product launch. A leak has pointed to an update this coming Tuesday night for an unveiling Wednesday. The 9to5 contacts mentioned some stores getting boxes as well, but whether these are display supplies or products isn't evident.
One possible candidate is a set of giant book replica displays designed to promote teamwork with the Teach for America Foundation that would bring iPads to classrooms. The extra boxes could be supporting elements.
New Macs aren't likely to be part of the mix given Apple's widely suspected plan to wait until Lion to ship new Macs. They don't, however, preclude Apple launching new AirPort and Time Capsule routers or another product that doesn't depend on Lion to work. Apple could also be simply changing the focus of its store promos on new themes or to more directly push its back-to-school deal.
Supplies have been running low primarily of AirPort routers but have also touched Mac minis.

I wonder if it will be easy for Apple to invade
the American school system with iPads. There seems to be quite a bit of opposition from the "open OS" camp and how Apple will be harming education by selling schools over-priced iPads. The Android camp obviously wants to sell the fragmented Honeycomb tablet systems to schools because children will have access to Adobe Flash internet sites. Such stupidity. It will really be something if the iPad becomes a staple device of U.S. education and I'm not sure how Apple could meet such a demand. Apple would then certainly be able to stifle Wall Street's doubt about long-term growth.
