Canon gives brown, gray, red Rebel T3
After previously limiting the production runs to a handful of countries like Australia and Canada, Canon on Monday brought new colors of the Rebel T3 to the US. The DSLR now comes not just in conservative black but but also the previously seen red hue as well as brown and metallic gray. The palette swap is the first in years for the Rebel after the company stopped shipping the camera in silver.
All of the cameras remain functionally similar to the regular T3 and shoot 12-megapixel images through a nine-point autofocus system and an ISO 100 to 6,400 sensitivity range. The camera is capped at 3FPS in continuous shooting but has a 63-zone metering system.
In the US, the new Rebel T3 colors are exclusive to Canon's online shop, although those in Canada and elsewhere can find at least the red model at Future Shop. They normally cost $600 in a kit with the 18-55mm lens but are selling until the end of July for $550.
