Nokia N9 may bow at Nokia Connection June 21
The Nokia N9 may get its formal reveal at the Nokia Connection event on Tuesday, sources hinted. Nokia had already confirmed there would be a new "masterpiece" product at the Singapore event, but Tinhte understood it would be the long-rumored MeeGo phone. The design would be "very thin" with no front-facing buttons but also, unusually, would drop the slider keyboard associated with the phone during its entire unofficial history.
In spite of Nokia's promises of timelier phone releases, the N9 wouldn't arrive until the fall. Nokia is expected to sell it for the equivalent of about $631 in Vietnam.
The N9 would be the first mainstream MeeGo phone in the world and will likely be a parallel to the N8 with a 12-megapixel camera and a unibody aluminum shell. Not much else is known, although a North American release is possible as the N9 has shown up at the FCC with 3G bands that would let it work on AT&T in the US and the larger Canadian carriers.
