Nokia N9 press images arrive early
(Update: live photos) Nokia's imminent N9 may have been given its ultimate reveal early through a spoiler of the first press shots. True to earlier last-minute tips, the MeeGo phone would drop the keyboard previously seen. PocketNow's glimpse also showed an iPod nano-like rounded, very thin design dominated by a touchscreen and without any front-facing hardware buttons.
Few other details are available other than the black, blue, and pink color choices. It had been previously seen coming with a 12-megapixel camera. The thin size might preclude a direct parallel to the N8 in terms of image quality.
If earlier tips are accurate, the N9 would go on sale in the fall and would cost about $630. A North American version could be available at the same time. Nokia's difficulty in getting carrier deals could limit a US appearance to an unlocked model.
Update: A follow-up leak has shown live photos confirming the design. It won't have as advanced a camera at eight megapixels, Engadget said, but it will use a 540x960 display.
