Apple allegedly partnering on TVs with Apple TV
A new rumor has resurfaced the frequent claim that Apple would have a self-branded TV set. A supposed Apple executive claimed the Apple TV hardware would be integrated into TV sets built by a "major supplier" but badged with Apple's logo. What DailyTech was told about would be planned for a fall launch but could wait until 2012 if the product wasn't ready.
Samsung was speculated as the likely partner given its size and scale. TV designers weren't necessarily liable to object since any costs from integrating Apple TV might be absorbed by extra demand.
Analysts have repeatedly insisted an Apple-branded TV was in the works for the past several years but have never seen this manifested in shipping products. Apple chief Steve Jobs and executives have frequently cast the Apple TV media hub as a "hobby," even after selling a million units in three months.
Many of the TV makers Apple might reach could be hostile. Many either have self-developed Internet platforms or are courting Google TV. Samsung and Vizio just recently signed onboard for the Android TV front-end and would be joining Sony among top-tier TV companies.

We don't need...
We don't need no stinkin' badges! - Apple don't badge products, period! This, like so many rumours, is complete rubbish.
