Latest iteration for connected devices

Sling Media has previewed a new SlingPlayer utility designed specifically for the Boxee Box, the latest connected device to take advantage of the television streaming system. The Boxee Box offering appears to work in the same way as SlingPlayer for Google TV, smartphones, tablets and other devices, providing yet another method for users to watch video streamed from the Singbox set-top box.

Users can navigate the SlingPlayer UI directly from the Boxee remote, enabling playback control and access to channel listings. The company has maintained a similar interface across the entire range of SlingPlayer apps.

Users should be able to take advantage of a public beta for the new variant sometime in the next month, when it will be added to the Boxee app list. Pricing and launch information for the final release have yet to be announced. [via Engadget]
