Impression 10 tablet claims to get near iPad specs for $350

Leader puts out Impression 10 tablet with IPS LCD

Leader on Tuesday set out to thrust itself into the tablet field in earnest by launching the Impression 10. While running on an older 1GHz Samsung chip and using Android 2.2, it remains one of the few in its class to have a 9.7-inch, capacitive, IPS-based touchscreen. The panel theoretically gives it the same image quality and responsive touch as an iPad, even extending to the 1024x768 resolution.

iPad imitators of the sort are relatively common but often use inaccurate resistive touchscreens, poor-quality LCDs, or underpowered processors.

Along with chip selection, the costs are kept down by building in just 4GB of internal storage, although a microSDHC slot can take up to 32GB more. Battery life is also tangibly shorter than its Apple counterpart at six hours. Leader also gives it a two-megapixel front camera, but no rear camera, and HDMI video out.

The Impression 10 is already up for sale online and costs $350.

    Spec/Schpeck

We all know that spec is for size queens buying dildoes—whether it works like a real thing or not is not important at all.

    Last year OS

I wonder how many current version of Android OS they are on the market right now. Why they keep coming with outdated and inadequate OS for tablet? Which Android 2.2 apps will support this tablet screen resolution? Does the company have OS upgrade strategy or they plan to do like other, ship to reseller and forget. Even Motorola forget their Xoom and Droid customer.

    funny...

Android lovers hate the "one size for all" Apple approach and yet they are so fragmented they "know," innately, theirs is a terrible fragmented approach--who would want to buy a previously owned Android anything without knowing WHAT it can do? Apparently... this doesn't matter to those who love widgets and don't care how usable they are. As Jobs said, "it's about a Great experience." I don't know the difference between Android 2.2 and Android 3. And already we are hearing about Android 4. This HAS to be a nightmare.

    Leader? More like follower.

They should change their company name ASAP.

    Who wrote this dribble....

so what part of the specs is "near" iPad's specs. Just over half battery life (untested so probably less when run on a continuous video playback benchmark test). Quarter memory to Apples entry level iPad. And man that thing is thick. So remind me again, which part is near iPad...oh yes screen size...big deal. This beast won't make it to market, probably with Googles blessing too!
