Buttonless touch screen phone runs MeeGo OS
Nokia has revealed a first ship date for its N9 smartphone. The N9, carried in Sweden by wireless service provider 3, will be available on September 23. The phone is the first to run the MeeGo OS, and not Windows Phone, which has been the focus of much of Nokia's recent development efforts.
Nokia had officially unveiled the N9 in Singapore on Monday. The company at that time, however, chose not to reveal any pricing or availability information.
The N9 offers a buttonless user interface, and integrates NFC for mobile commerce payments and proximity-aware games and hardware like the Play 360 speaker. It centers on a 3.9-inch AMOLED touchscreen, Dolby sound, and an eight-megapixel camera. [via MyNewsdesk]
