Key accessories slated for mid summer

Samsung has introduced a wide range of accessories built for the company's new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, which recently arrived on the market. Owners will be able to choose from several docking options, including a multimedia dock and a keyboard dock, along with three different cases, an HDMI adapter, a travel charger, car charger, stylus, Bluetooth keyboard, and an SD card adapter.

The multimedia dock attaches to the Tab in landscape view, enabling users to view video, pictures or other content. A 3.5mm jack is provided for audio output, however users will still have to connect the company's HDMI adapter for video passthrough. A second option integrates a keyboard with hotkeys for quick access to Android features such as the browser, e-mail client, and media playback controls.

To help protect the tablet, Samsung will offer a Book Cover case that converts into an easel stand with several positioning options for media playback or typing on the virtual keyboard. Users can also choose a leather pouch for basic protection, or a Bluetooth keyboard case that eliminates the need to use the onscreen keyboard.

Aside from the HDMI cable adapter, the device will also be paired with a USB adapter, an SD card adapter, a two-amp charger that fits into the 12-volt ports on vehicles, and a conductive stylus that simulates finger touch for precision input. The USB adapter, which was recently unveiled, supports peripherals such as mice, keyboards, memory sticks, and other accessories.

The USB adapter is already available for $20, while most of the lineup is expected to arrive this week. Several items are slated for mid-summer, including the Bluetooth keyboard and SD card adapter.
