Unauthorized bio of Apple CEO online now

Business news cable network CNBC will kick off their season premiere of "CNBC Titans" with an unauthorized biography of Apple's Steve Jobs, AppleInsider reports. The hourlong program will air tomorrow at 9 p.m. eastern and cover Jobs' iconic role in both the personal computer revolution through his work at Apple and NeXT as well as his takeover and subsequent rebirth of Pixar as the leading studio for computer-animated movies. CNBC calls him "the undisputed king of Silicon Valley for the better part of three decades."

In addition to looking at Jobs' well-known accomplishments, the program also plans to examine his "confrontational" personality, noting that Jobs is "famous for his ruthless reputation." Although Jobs has been both interviewed and profiled on CNBC before, this is the first time that the "Titans" show, which profiles legendary executives and creative professionals from the U.S, has done a biography on Jobs.

Other "Titans" to be profiled this season include Quincy Jones and executives from Hershey's, the chocolate maker. Previous episodes have focused on barons of business such as Donald Trump, Ted Turner and Merv Griffin.

The online trailer for the episode (available below, requires Flash) includes remarks on Jobs from Guy Kawasaki and John Sculley along with various pundits and technology experts. The page promoting the episode offers three video "web extras" focusing on Jobs' personality, the introduction of the first Macintosh and the development of the iPod. He is referred to by Kawasaki as someone who can claim credit for at least six world-changing devices -- a record few others can touch -- and on the promotional page as "one of the few who dared to 'Think Different.'"
