Budget laptops feature brushed finish
Samsung gave a surprise look at its as-yet unannounced Series 3 budget notebook line at the Digital Experience tradeshow in New York. The Series 3 will be available with a wide of screen sizes, and use a range of AMD and Intel CPUs. The chassis for the Series 3 has the same look as the premium Series 9, mimicking the look of brushed metal. Some of the Intel-based notebooks will have WiDi.
The entry-level model will have a glossy 15.6-inch display coupled with a quad-core AMD A4 processor. The upper end will use quad-core Core i7 CPUs. Other displays include non-glossy 11.6-inch, 12.1-inch, 13.3-inch, and 14-inch screens.
Prices and specifications of the full line have not been finalized, but should top out at under $820. The company has not announced when the Series 3 would be available for purchase. [via Engadget]
