Motorola Atrix 4G to get Android 2.3 soon

The Motorola Atrix 4G should get Android 2.3 in July. The update for the handset will arrive over six months after Google first posted the Android 2.3 source code in December last year and around three months after the handset became available. It will bring the device's OS up to Android 2.3.3, as well as a revised Motorola Blur UI.

Brief Mobile recently tested a pre-release build and noted that the smoothness and lack of bugs suggested that the release would be imminent.

Among the features baked into the latest OS by Motorola are an overscroll glow, application grouping, re-built main applications, downloads management, improved camera, improved power management and revised keyboard.

An update to Android 2.3.4 for the Atrix 4G is anticipated to arrive by September.
