Telstra: HTC Desire will lose Sense to get Android 2.3

updated 09:55 am EDT, Fri June 24, 2011

Low memory on older phone delayed update

The planned upgrade to Android 2.3 for the HTC Desire has been an "on again/off-again" story. Now the Gingerbread update appears to be back on again, as Australian wireless carrier Telstra has scheduled the software update for the Desire in August.

HTC had hoped to find a compromise solution that would have freed memory space by removing some of the less vital Sense elements, but seems to have abandoned that approach.

    weird, pretty weird..

I don't understand the Android market or their "openness"
Android came out with Honeycomb (android 3.1) months ago, why are they still selling android 2.3 or anything lower to 3?
Yesterday, Hulu or nexflix release a version of their application for android and from the thousand of models out there, only 7 can use the application. Why do people still buying android phones? it's because of the low pricing? The only desktop functionality in android is its capacity to run virus and malware, is only windows user's the target market for android?
