HTC Flyer users get OnLive viewer app

HTC Flyer owners are reporting getting the promised OnLive Viewer app as an official update. The app seen by early XDA adopters gives those with the Android tablet the option iPad users have already had to spectate games and view gamers' 10-second Brag Clips. Actual gameplay will have to wait until the OnLive Player app in the summer.

The service needs at least a 3Mbps Internet connection and works best on a 5Mbps link. At 1024x600, the Flyer is just slightly larger than the minimum resolution requirements and overlays information that would normally sit outside the view on an iPad or the desktop. With all gameplay coming through a 720p stream, though, the Flyer is still capable of meeting the performance demands.

When Player arrives, much of the interface should remain the same with the exception of fully-functioning games and meaningful support for the Marketplace to buy or subscribe to games.
