Samsung working on Windows Phone equivalent to Galaxy S II

Samsung making WP-powered version of Galaxy S II
A new Bluetooth SIG listing suggests Samsung is working on a smartphone that takes the hardware from the Galaxy S II and putting Windows Phone 7 software on it rather than Android. It would effectively replace the Windows Phone-powered Focus, whose specs aren't nearly as impressive as the Galaxy S II's. The Samsung SGH-i937 handset on the Bluetooth SIG site has a Bluetooth profile identical to the Windows Phone 7 Mango stack and showed up on a list of devices that are capable of running Windows Phone 7 games.
The Galaxy S II has been setting sales records since its introduction, and it's possible Samsung wants to continue this success with a Windows Phone version. WP7 Mango-powered smartphones are expected to arrive in the fall and could be headlined by Samsung's model.
The current Galaxy S II specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage space, and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. There is also an eight-megapixel camera out back and a two-megapixel camera in the front. [via WMPowerUser]
