Boxee Remote ships for Macs and Windows

D-Link touched on a frequent request of home theater PC owners Wednesday by formally releasing the Boxee Remote for PC & Mac. The controller is an exact match for the one included with the Boxee Box but comes with an RF wireless USB adapter that avoids the need for a line of sight. It's tailored to let users stay entirely in the Boxee software front end and has a keyboard on the flip side for text.

The remote can also work as a second remote for a Boxee Box and should have limited control outside of the Boxee app.

A Boxee Remote should work with Macs running Tiger or later as well as Windows PCs running XP SP2 or later. D-Link is officially selling it for $50, but it can be found on Amazon (above) for $40. It technically shipped alongside the Boxee Box last November. The Boxee software as always remains free.
