New app lets kids color interactive pages

Griffin Technology and Crayola have partnered to create the Crayola ColorStudio HD for iPad which is an app (free, App Store) and accessory that lets kids draw and paint. The iMarker stylus combines the functionality of a marker, pen, crayon and paintbrush. Animated and interactive coloring pages are part of the app and react while being colored.

There are 30 such animated coloring pages included, though users can create their own form the app's library of background images, music, sound effects and more. Artwork can be e-mailed, uploaded to Facebook or printed.

The iMarker is priced at $30 and available at Apple and Best Buy stores as well as online from Griffin.

    Tell the difference

This is a wonderful idea so long as your kids know the difference between the stylus and a real crayon!
