T-Mobile G2X set to get Android 2.3 within a month

An official LG forum moderator has T-Mobile G2X should arrive soon. In response to customer enquiries about the arrival of Gingerbread on a discussion thread, the moderator said "...I'd be really surprised if it was more than a month out." The Tegra 2 dual-core device has not been able to really shine with its current build of Android 2.2. It is expected that the update to 2.3 will highlight the benefits of its processing power.

An early preview of the G2X running Android 2.3 in arrived in May raising expectations that it would have arrived by now. The preview (embedded below) shows the device running Android 2.3.3, which will bring with it an enhanced keyboard, copy-paste text. It also showed the device demonstrating visibly improved performance. Its scrolling and pinching did not show any signs of lag and functioned fluidly. [via Tmo News]
