Samsung Romania unusually backs Nexus Prime rumors

Samsung Romania agency posts Nexus Prime specs

Samsung Romania has, over its Twitter account, given an odd endorsement of rumors of the Nexus Prime smartphone. An image of the tweets were immortalized in a Ziarul Financiar report (since pulled) and Samsung Romania itself has published a correction over Twitter. The phone maker had proudly pointed to talk of a Super AMOLED HD (1280x720) screen and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) but has since backtracked.

"The earlier tweet on Nexus smartphone was uploaded by our agency by mistake," Samsung Romania claimed on TweetDeck. "It is based on rumor and not officially confirmed from Samsung Romania. We apologize for any misunderstanding and confusion caused in response. Thank you."

The agency reportedly got these specs from a third, unofficial party, which could have been a BGR report from a day earlier that had the above-mentioned specs. This report also included mention of a dual-core OMAP4460 chip at the phone's core, which can run at speeds of up to 1.5GHz. It would have support for 1080p HD 2D video and the same resolution for stereoscopic 3D images as well.
