Enables Facebook on 2500+ Java phones

Facebook has launched a new app that brings the popular social networking tool to cell phones running Java. Every Phone incorporates several popular Facebook features including News Feed, Inbox, and Photos. The app also uploads photos and finds friends from the phone’s contact list.

The app is available as a download either directly from the company's website or from app stores including GetJar, Appia and Mobile Weaver. It's available as a 90-day trial with many wireless service providers in Europe and Asia. No carriers in the US or Canada are offering it as a trial.

The company claims that Facebook for Every Phone will run on over 2,500 Java enabled mobile devices. It also claims that it is optimized so that it will use less data than other Java apps, making it more affordable once the trial period ends.

Facebook plans on making Facebook for Every Phone available in yet-as-unspecified non-Java enabled phones at some point in the future.
