T-Mobile expands its HSPA+42 4G network to 56 more markets

T-Mobile expands 4G network, reaches 170 million


T-Mobile has announced that it is has expanded its double-speed HSPA+42 4G network to an additional 56 markets. It claims that its new, faster 4G network is now available in 152 markets and is addressing a population base of 170 million people. T-Mobile also promises that the upgraded network will deliver higher capacity and better reliability.

The average download speeds on its HSPA+ 42 network is up to 10 Mbps in real-world use, with peak speeds reaching 27 Mbps. Handsets that can take advantage of the current 4G speeds on T-Mobile’s network include the HTC Sensation 4G and the forthcoming myTouch 4G Slide. T-Mobile expects that its first HSPA+42 capable smartphone will ship later this year.
