gScreen begins pre-orders of dual-screen notebook

Small Alaskan company gScreen has began offering pre-orders for its dual-screen 17.3-inch notebook known as the SpaceBook. Introduced over a year ago, the notebook has two 1920x1080-resolution displays that slide out horizontally. Available in two configurations, it weighs at least 10lbs and is not meant to be easily portable.

Both share the same displays and NVIDIA's GeForce GTS 250M GPU with 1GB of RAM along with a 500GB, 7,200RPM hard drive. A DVD writer is standard, as are three USB ports, a multi-card reader, Ethernet, FireWire, and eSATA jacks, along with an HDMI output.

The key difference between the $2,395 model and the $2,795 version is the processor and RAM. The former has a 2.66GHz Core i5 and 4GB of RAM, while the latter shifts to a 1.73GHz quad-core i7 and 8GB of RAM.
