Latest pico projector from MicroVision

MicroVision has unveiled its latest pico projector, the ShowWX+HDMI. The projector provides many of the same features as the company's ShowWX+, but with an HDMI port alongside a connector designed for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Users can also attach computers via VGA connectors using a special adapter that can be purchased separately.

The pocket-size projector supports maximum output resolutions up to 848x480, though source devices must support 480p resolution rather than higher standards such as 720p or 1080p. Images are presented using a 15-lumen lamp, without requiring focus adjustment and spreading out to a maximum of 200 inches. MicroVision suggests the lithium-ion battery is capable of running for two hours before requiring a recharge.

The ShowWX+HDMI is currently available to pre-order directly from MicroVision for $369, though a launch date has yet to be announced.
