Service to be added via firmware update

Onkyo has announced that its 2011 lineup of network-attached AV receivers will support Spotify's music streaming service. The feature is already available for the TX-NR609 via a firmware update. Other receivers in the series will eventually receive similar updates to expand the range of supported music-streaming services.

The company also suggests it will be introducing additional networked Spotify-ready products in the near future, however further details remain unknown.

To take advantage of the streaming capabilities, users must have Spotify's $10/month Premium subscription.
