Sanyo Miraz Sanzo home automation robot speaks

Sanyo Home has just shown off its Mirai Sanzo robot that's meant to help users manage their connected and automated home. The round robot has a diameter of 22cm and is powered by an unspecified version of Android. At its center is a touchscreen for controlling various aspects, helped out by touch sensors and voice recognition.

To make the robot feel more human, Sanyo programmed seven different emotions into it by making it glow in various colors. Sanyo says the robot can connect to and control home solar panels, a PC, the intercom, a home security system, the air conditioning/ventilation system and audio video power. It's meant as an energy-saving device and can even connect to smartphones for remote control. The robot can speak to its users.

The Mirai Sanzo is due to ship in Japan anytime now, though pricing hasn't been revealed. [via Akihabara]
