ASUS U46 has screen that's just 5.5mm thick
ASUS has introduced two new notebooks that are meant for frequent travelers as both have compact dimensions. The U46 and U56 are both under one inch thick, but the 14-inch U46 will catch the most headlines thanks to its screen bezels's 5.5mm (0.21in) thickness, which is the industry's thinnest. A thin bezel surrounds the screen as well.
Both notebooks have second-generation Intel Core processors, though details on them are unknown. The U46SV model has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics processor with 1GB of RAM. Common features include USB 3.0 ports and a battery life rated at 10 hours.
The 15-inch U56E model gets a soft-touch palm rest below the touchpad.
Prices and release dates for the notebooks aren't yet known. [via FarEastGizmos]
