Audio gear to be available when GoW3 ships

Mad Catz has set out plans to carry a series of licensed Gears of War 3 audio hardware for The Xbox 360. The game branded devices include a throat communicator and two headsets. They can be pre-ordered now through GameShark, Mad Catz's online store, and will be shipping when the Epic over-the-shoulder shooter, is released in September.

The Throat Communicator offers a behind-the-neck design, an adjustable neckband with foam rubber inserts, and a flexible transparent sound tube. Its price is kept low at $30.

The Performance Stereo Gaming Headset comes with two 40mm drivers, an analog AV HDMI Adapter, noise-isolating headphones, and independent game and voice controls. It integrates Selective Voice Monitoring (SVM), a feature that lets gamers hear their own voices through the headset's ear cups to make sure it sounds correct. A pair will cost $100.

The Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Headset adds Dolby Digital EX, Pro Logic IIX, and Headphone decoding. It also incorporates digital optical input and pulsating LED lighting. Pricing has been set at $180

The Gears of War 3 game will be released on September 20. Microsoft is offering a special edition Xbox for the occasion. It will sport blood red artwork on the 320GB console and its included controllers.
