HTC Wildfire S official for T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile silenced rumors Thursday afternoon by detailing its version of the HTC Wildfire S. Its adaptation of the starter Android 2.3 phone is largely stock other than a distinctive white-and-chrome hue as an option alongside a more sober black. The edition's customizations are light and mostly cling to HTC's own Sense 3.0 layout.

The Wildfire S is HTC's smallest smartphone and has a 3.2-inch, 320x480 touchscreen. A modest 600MHz processor keeps the cost low and is joined by a five-megapixel camera with autofocusing and flash.

Buyers can pick up the phone on August 3 for $80 on a two-year contract. Only T-Mobile itself will have the white version, but both Walmart and its sister store Sam's Club will have the black edition.
