Olympus E-PL3 Lite due in the UK this summer
The Olympus E-PL3 Lite camera introduced at the start of last month has just got an official release date and price in the UK. It arrives late this summer, priced at £550 (nearly $900) when bundled with a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R zoom lens. It will be available in black, white, silver or red.
The Micro Four Thirds camera is compatible with the format's lenses, and there is a hot-shoe for an included external flash and other add-ons. The 12.1-megapixel camera has all the core sensor features of its bigger counterpart, the E-P3, such as its very fast autofocusing and dual-core processor. Built-in image stabilization saves the need for it in the lens, and and it can record 1080i video. Its standout feature is a tilting 3-inch LCD on the back for shooting off-angle.
A more exact US release date and matching price remains unknown, but is likely to come soon. It will cost significantly under $900 in the US with that higher price already reserved for the E-P3.
