Olympus E-PL3 Lite due in the UK this summer

The Olympus E-PL3 Lite camera introduced at the start of last month has just got an official release date and price in the UK. It arrives late this summer, priced at 550 (nearly $900) when bundled with a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R zoom lens. It will be available in black, white, silver or red.

The Micro Four Thirds camera is compatible with the format's lenses, and there is a hot-shoe for an included external flash and other add-ons. The 12.1-megapixel camera has all the core sensor features of its bigger counterpart, the E-P3, such as its very fast autofocusing and dual-core processor. Built-in image stabilization saves the need for it in the lens, and and it can record 1080i video. Its standout feature is a tilting 3-inch LCD on the back for shooting off-angle.

A more exact US release date and matching price remains unknown, but is likely to come soon. It will cost significantly under $900 in the US with that higher price already reserved for the E-P3.
