T-Mobile Venue Pro gets firmware update

A Dell employee used Twitter to reveal that the Venue Pro smartphone on T-Mobile in the US and other countries began receiving a firmware update on Wednesday, July 20. Bugs addressed by the update include the Wi-Fi lockup issue and some other, less serious ones. When AT&T users of the phone or those with Bell in Canada will get the update remains to be seen.

The update has been long awaited, as the problem dates back to January. The 16GB model used to freeze when downloading large apps over Wi-Fi from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The Windows Phone 7-powered device hides a QWERTY keyboard behind its 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen.
