Google Shopper iPhone update adds Offers support

Google picked late afternoon to post a major update to Google Shopper on the iPhone (App Store). The revamp brings it up to the Android version and can look for Google Offers based on location, complete with a map to show them and help get directions. A My Offers tab also lets users check deals they've flagged and check them based on how soon they expire as well as ones they've recently used.

Some offers can be redeemed directly from the phone, Google says. Outside of the discounts, the Shopper update mostly addresses crashes for some iOS versions.

The new version works on any iPhone, fourth-generation iPod touch players, and iPad 2s, all of which have to use iOS 4.0. Google Offers are still in their early phase and focus on New York City, the wider San Francisco Bay, and Portland, Oregon. Other cities are coming soon.
