Handset likely to launch beyond T-Mobile

Less than a week afterHTC's Wildfire S was confirmed for a T-Mobile launch, the handset has resurfaced in FCC documents that point to support for CDMA networks. Although other carriers have yet to announce launch plans for the device, the FCC approval suggests the handset is potentially being readied for Verizon, US Cellular or companies.

The handset represents HTC's smallest smartphone, sporting a 600MHz processor and a 3.2-inch touchscreen with 320x480 resolution. The company has paired Android 2.3 with its own Sense 3.0 interface overlay.

The budget-focused Wildfire S is expected to ship on August 3 for $80 through T-Mobile. Pricing or launch details from other carriers have yet to be announced. [via Engadget]
