ASUS Eee Pad Transformer to get Android 3.2 on Thursday

updated 02:50 pm EDT, Wed July 27, 2011

Honeycomb update downloadable tomorrow

Asus is releasing an Android 3.2 update for its Eee Pad Transformer. The company has tweeted that the new Honeycomb version will be available tomorrow. The upgrade adds legacy app zooming, Exchange fixes, and partial SD card slot support.

The Eee Pad Transformer hit the US market in April. It was an immediate hit and sold out quickly, although this was partly dictated by shortages. The tablet runs on a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a five-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front camera, two full USB ports, a microSDHC reader, and a mini HDMI output.

The distribution of Android 3.2 began last Tuesday. Motorola was the first vendor to make it available on its Xoom.
