Google updates Gmail to 2.3.5 for Android

Google has added label-based ringtones to Gmail 2.3.5 for Android. The new feature allows users to set notifications and ringtones for any of the labels in a user’s inbox. In addition, users now also have the ability to sync only priority messages, which aims to save power useage as well as data bandwidth.

Other new additions to the app include remembering show pictures for individual senders as well as a virtual toggle allowing users to switch sticky message actions in landscape in all orientations. Google has also improved the general performance and stability of the app, while also fixing some bugs.

Google Gmail 2.3.5 for Android is available now as a free download from the Android Market.
