Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet gets official date

Lenovo in a low-key move gave the ThinkPad Tablet a hard ship date after it updated the product page. The pro Android 3.1 slate is now due to ship August 23. Prices still start off at $480 for the 16GB base version and step up to $510 for one with 32GB and pen input.

The ThinkPad design is very similar on the inside to the home-oriented IdeaPad K1 and shares its Tegra 2 chip, front and back cameras, and custom Lenovo interface with preloaded apps and the Lenovo App Shop. Getting the ThinkPad model adds full-size expansion ports as well as pro apps, remote administration, and support for pens as well as finger touch.

Those who want a tablet earlier can order the K1 today for $500 in a 32GB version and should see it ship on August 9.
