LG Thrill 4G set back to August 21 due to ATT

AT&T has delayed the LG Thrill 4G to August 21, according to a new memo for Radio Shack staff. Originally slated for August 7, the 3D Android phone has reportedly been moved back two weeks for reasons unknown other than it being AT&T's responsibility. Pre-orders should now run until August 15, Android Central heard.

The Thrill 4G is a near exact match for the Optimus 3D we tried in February but adapter for AT&T's HSPA+ data bands. Americans primarily get a preloaded copy of Qik for video chat as well as a mix of 3D games from Gameloft. It will be relatively inexpensive at $100 on a contract.

LG's centerpiece is a 4.3-inch, glasses-free 3D display that comes matched with dual rear cameras to capture 720p 3D video (1080p in 2D) as well as still photos. It also represents LG's fastest phone with a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP chip that also has dual-channel memory. Despite its timing, it still ships with Android 2.2 but may get a 2.3 update soon.
